RESERVA DO IBITIPOCA
Ibitipoca Lodge |
ABOUT RESERVA DO IBITIPOCA'S LODGE - in their own words:
ACCOMMODATIONS
At Reserva do Ibitipoca, luxury is in the simplicity of each detail. Eight guest rooms are located in the faithfully restored farmhouse of Fazenda do Engenho, which is surrounded by extensive green areas and located at an altitude of 900 meters above sea level. The renowned mineira (from Minas Gerais) hospitality and the coziness of our lodge are an invitation for our guests to relax. Each room has exclusive furniture and a décor that values our local handicrafts and culture. All rooms are equipped with king size beds (some of which can be adapted to twin beds), Egyptian cotton sheets, comfortable armchairs, a nightstand with lamp, a linen wardrobe or drawers and hangers, IPod amplifier and telephone. The bathrooms have under floor heating, warmed towels, a Victorian style bath, heated showers, L’Occitane amenities, personalized havaianas (the original Brazilian flip flops), a hair dryer and bathrobes.
Main House (“Fazenda do Engenho”)
The main house is where our best eight guestrooms are located and where meals are served for all guests on the Reserve. Six bedrooms differ only in style and decoration, which can be classic or contemporary. Suite 5 has spectacular views and suite 8 is the largest. An extra bed can be
added on request. In the Lodge we have cozy verandas with comfortable couches, hammocks and intimate decor. These are an ideal spot for a drink before meals, to read a good book or magazine, to admire the lake view, to listen to the bird sounds, to feel the breeze and the fresh
air of the farm and to have a good conversation with friends.
In addition to the main house we also offer other, more rustic options. These offer more privacy to guests, who will also be able to benefit from the overall structure of the Reserve's main facilities. Some of these houses are named after their original residents. Meals are served in the main house, although these can be ordered and brought to the other houses (at a cost of $R100 per person per day). The Mountain Houses, Viradouro and Carlinhos have limited availability.
MOUNTAIN HOUSES (“Benjamin” and “Zico”)
Located at the top of the mountain, these houses are ideal for guests seeking greater privacy and closer contact with nature. The 2 houses each have 2 bedrooms, are situated 200 metres apart and are rented to people traveling together (as part of one group), or just to one couple (no extra cost). Basic and small, they are powered by alternative energy, in line with our principals of sustainability. They are located 2 kilometers from the main house and are reached by 4 x 4 vehicles, especially when it rains.
“VIRADOURO”
With the charm of an original farmhouse and similar levels of comfort to that in the main building, Viradouro has 3 suites. Located 1 kilometer from the main house, its alternative energy is generated by a small waterworks, built by the former residents; a solar panel and coil heat the
water when the wood-burning stove is lit. The house's proximity to the river makes it easy to enjoy the natural swimming pools, formed by stones. Breakfast can be served in the house on request (see pricing information).
“CARLINHOS”
A typical farm house that was reformed in 2013 and now contains the three best suites on the Reserve. Every bathroom has heated floors and towel racks. The rooms are decorated with beautiful local handcrafts and offer complete privacy and comfort with gorgeous views. The largest room is 70m2 and the house is located 100 meters from the main house. Perfect for small groups and families.
