"Some Don'ts in Santiago:

Don't miss a visit to Los Dominicoes, the Monk's Village converted to artisan village.

Don't miss a stop at the The Wine House, with the largest selection of Chilean wines anywhere. But don't overdo the wine tasting!

Don't drink the water. Although the water is treated it is different than what we are used to in the United States. Drink bottled water instead.

As in any city, be careful with bags or purses that hang from your shoulder and the same goes for your camera. Leave valuables behind in a safe deposit box at the hotel - better to be safe than sorry.

Don't flash your money around. Keep just what you need in your pocket and the rest out of sight!

Don=' change money on the streets - only change at the hotel or in exchange houses. Ask your guide what your best option is.
