ABOUT ESTANCIA LOS PLATANOS - in their own words:
 This old farmhouse has undoubtedly been a silent witness to the vicissitudes of more than a century of history. Old buildings prior to the year 1850, constituted the first constructions that over the years were undergoing some modifications.

Six generations have cared for its stone walls, its wooden ceilings and tiles brought by ship from France. In approximately 1910, large rooms and a large shearing shed were added to the complex, which closed the patio around the old cistern, and resulted in the view that our house has today.


Although it has not only been a simple family home but it also knew how to be a Posta de Diligencias (when Route 7 was called, Camino Real a Melo), a field warehouse and lived in some way very closely the events of the civil uprisings of 1897 and 1904.

 

And so all these moments through which this family has passed have left papers, photographs and objects as souvenirs, which we treasure in a small family museum
Today, the new generations heirs of a conservative spirit of what is ours and eager to share it with those who are they approach our "gates"; We believe that the best way to conserve is to make it known, because it is in the knowledge that we learn to take care of what is ours.

And it is with the warmth and generosity with which the doors were opened to those who arrived, as we do today with our guests, offering them warmth, kindness and a spirit of service.

GASTRONOMY
TRADITIONAL SIMPLE HEALTHY HONEST
 This is our gastronomy, with recipes with an identity that allow us to know the habits and customs of the Uruguayan countryside. Simple family recipes with all the flavor of homemade dishes. Taking care of every detail, every ingredient to achieve the best result. For this we use local and artisan products from different parts of the country.

And if the weather allows it, eating while watching the sunset is one of our favorites.
