ABOUT MARI MARI NATURAL RESERVE - in their own words:

Mari Mari Natural Reserve Experience brings a combination of luxury accommodation, fine dining, impeccable service, and life-changing activities to a relatively little-known coastal region of the northern Chilean Patagonia.

 

The experience is built on the principles and vestiges the long­ lost culture of Monte Verde. The discovery of a small child's footprint in 1975 in a marshy field near the city of ·Puerto Montt sent shockwaves  through the archaeological world:  it was evidence of human settlement  in the Americas that pre-dated the long-accepted Clovis paradigm by roughly 1,ooo years.

 

The Monte Verde culture lived at one with the flora and fauna as opposed to dominating and destroying it. It made little impact, with no temples or pyramids built, leaving as small a footprint as humanly possible. Thier  legacy permeates everything we do at Mari Mari. It sets a benchmark  of respect and responsibility. It inspires us to form part of our surroundings, living in harmony with the wildlife and vegetation found in this magical place.

Mari Mari is a Mapudungun term that not only welcomes visitors into the home but invites them to be part of the family and the community.

LOCATION:
Mari Mari is located on the Pacific coast of Northern Patagonia near the village of Los Muermos. Popular destinations such as Puerto Varas and Chiloe Island are close by.  The nearest airport is Puerto Montt.
 

Private complimentary round-trip land transfers are included hetwee Mari Mari and Puerto Montt’s airport in spacious SUV vehicles. The drive time is approximately 1 hour 15 Minutes each way.
 

Helicopter transfers are available for those who prefer a faster and more exclusive way to get to Mari Mari. The journey is spectacular: a scenic 20 minute flight over the delta of the Maullin River towards the Pacific Ocean. The helicopter transfer is complimentary for parties of four and more  staying a minimum of four nights.  Smaller parties may enjoy these transfers for an additional cost.
 

With its idyllic setting of 9,000 acres of lush terrain and some 13 miles of Pacific coastline, Mari Mari Natural Reserve is a premier luxury eco resort. This spectacular natural paradise is the setting for explorations on land or at sea, on foot or horseback, by kayak or boat, with binoculars or snorkels, while enjoying the creature comforts and exquisite cuisine expected of a five-star resort.

 

THE CLUBHOUSE

Observe dolphins and whales in the bay from the look-out tower or perhaps enjoy an invigorating swim under the stars. 

 

The 20,000-square-foot Lodge & Spa at The Mari Mari Preserve stands over our main beach, just a few steps away from the Residences. It is a special space that provides myriad pleasures and creature comforts with its oceanfront dining room, tranquil seating areas, bar, outdoor pool, and outdoor barbecue area.

The second floor of the Lodge is home to our Wellness and Spa facilities. Blessed with a natural, peaceful and soothing setting, our Spa retreat offers a variety of services and treatments designed to revitalize, relax, and pamper including facials, scrubs, body wraps, and massages.

Mari  Mari's  six oceanfront villas can  accommodate between 1 - 10 guests, depending on the villa. The  villas are nestled between the emerald green  rainforest and  the azure coastline of the Pacific, combining the creature comforts of home with  the amenities and services of a luxury  resort.

 

CULINARY EXPERIENCE

With a strong focus on locally-sourced organic ingredients,  the culinary experience at Mari  Mari  Resort & Spa is a celebration of traditions. Executive  ChefDaniela Flores has gained  renown in Chile for her passion  and creativity in combining indigenous traditions and local ingredients. Healthy, wholesome foods  prepared with  love and care is the trademark in this full ocean-view setting. Herbs,  spices,  and  vegetables nurtured  in  Mari  Mari's  own  organic  garden, seafood  from  the immediate coast,  range­ fed meats  and fowl and fresh cheeses, all in perfect combination with  the finest  Chilean wine make for a truly magical  culinary experience. All  meals  are  included in  the  stay, as well  as all  reserve  organic wines,  premium spirits, and  all  non-alcoholic.

 

The dining room  is located in the main  building with  views over the main  beach. The ambience is one of rustic  elegance, while  the dress code is casual. In addition, there  is a terrace bar  and  cafe for  outside dining.  All meals  are  included in the stay.

 

BAR & LOUNGE

Reserve  organic wines and non-alcoholic beverages  are included in  all programmes. We  also stock  an  impressive range  of premium wines, fine spirits, and  international and local  beers,  so  join  us in  the  Lounge  & Bar anytime from noon   until   midnight for  a  Pisco  Sour   (Chile's  national drink), a local  craft   beer,  or your   preferred cocktail. At 7 pm  each  day  we host  an informal get-together, with  a brief presentation given by the Activities Team  to plan  the experiences available over  the course  of the days ahead.
