Explora in Atacama is located on the edge of San Pedro de Atacama in the neighborhood of Ayllu de Larache, a little over an hour's drive from Calama. It sits on 42 acres, formed by 20 still intact small properties. It has 50 rooms in four wings fronting a huge patio, with corridors to the main building. 

San Pedro de Atacama is an oasis located 2,443 meters (8,015 feet) above sea level, connected with the Calama airport (Chile) by a 100 kilometer paved road (62 miles).

The 50 rooms of explora Atacama are designed to take full advantage of the silence, privacy, and spaciousness of the surrounding landscape, ensuring deep rest after a long day of exploration. At explora, we actively seek disconnection from everyday routine, which is why our rooms are not equipped with televisions or Wi-Fi, which is only available in the hotel’s common areas.
