Day 1 - Saturday - Depart USA:
Depart Miami USA gateway city on evening flight.
Day 2 - Sunday Arrive Manaus around 1 AM
Meeting upon arrival Manaus and transfer to the Villa Amazonia where you room is awaiting your arrival. Leisurely morning. This afternoon enjoy a visit to the highlights of Manaus including the Municipal Market, built at the beginning of the 20th century. Inside the impressive building, we will find a variety of regional products including fish, fruits and herbs. Afterward, we will pass by the Government Palace and view the nearby creek with its typical houses built on stilts. We will then visit the Floating Dock in Manaus, which is deeply connected to the cycle of rubber and, in recent years has undergone great changes, in order to make it competitive and suited to the demands of globalization. Our final destination is the Amazon Opera House, the primary symbol from the golden age of the rubber boom, built in 1896. With the help of a recent restoration, the building has maintained the splendor of that epic period. (B)
Day 3 - Monday Manaus - Tefe - Mamiraua Reserve
As they say, "getting there is half the fun". Transfer to the Manaus airport for a one hour flight deep into the Amazon to the town of Tefe. Meeting and short transfer to the river docks for a one hour transfer by motorlaunch to the Mamiraua Sustainable Development Reserve, located in the Amazon region known as the Middle Solimoes. Spend 4 nights at the Uakari Lodge created in conjunction with local communities and researchers to provide services for eco tourists interested in the Amazon and its conservation. During your stay, you will explore the forest in small groups of up to six people and, during the flood season (May to July), glide through the flooded forest trails in small paddle canoes. During the rest of the year, trails can be walked see the forest. The lodge has a system of eleven forest trails, each an average of 3 km (1 .85 mi) in length. All were developed in strategic areas and are used by researchers in their studies of the ecosystem. which has an abundance of birds, monkeys, black caiman and other wildlife. (B-L-D)
ABOUT UAKARI LODGE: The Uakari Lodge is composed of seven floating, wood and thatch structures, all designed for minimum environmental impact. It employs eco-friendly technologies such as rainwater collection, solar power for lighting and water heating, and a sewage filtration system. When not participating in outdoor activities, you can take advantage of the lodge's leisure areas, such as the bar and TV room. There is also a conference center for group reunions, and a library, for quiet time. The restaurant serves three meals a day and its menu offers local Brazilian cuisine. Cooks focus on using products and recipes typical of the Amazon, including fresh fish, regional fruits and juices.
The 10 floating cabins of the Uakari Lodge are spacious and tranquil spaces, strategically located for optimal wildlife observation without leaving the premises. Each has its own terrace and bathroom with hot water. The apartments feature large beds, thatched roofs and windows equipped with insect nets.
Day 4 Tuesday - Mamiraua Reserve
Today you will enjoy a variety of activities and visits exploring the first Sustainable Development Reserve of Brazil with inclusion and involvement of traditional communities. This is one of the largest reserves of flooded areas in the world, considered by RAMSAR a wetland of global importance with approximately 400 species of birds and at least 45 species of mammal including the endangered red-faced Uakari monkey. Day 5 Wednesday - Mamiraua Reserve

Day 7 - Friday - Mamiraua - Tefe - Manaus - Cuiaba
Morning return motorlaunch transfer to Tefe to catch the flight to Manaus where you will connect to a flight to Cuiaba, capital of the state of Mato Grosso and gateway to the northern Pantanal. Meeting upon arrival and transfer to your hotel, the Deville Prime, for overnight. (B)
Day 8 - Saturday Cuiaba - Hotel Baiazinha EcoLodge
Here we go again, another "getting there is half the fun " experience. Early this morning your host will meet you at the hotel lobby for your transfer to your lodge, which will include an overland journey via the town of Caceres and then a motorlaunch transfer to the lodge. The address of the Hotel Baiazinha EcoLodge, where you will spend four nights, is "the left side of the Paraguai River 100 km from the town of Caceres". You'll arrive by lunch and in the afternoon enjoy your foray into the Pantanal on a river safari looking for jaguar. (B-L-D))
Day 9 - Sunday Hotel Baiazinha EcoLodge
Today you will enjoy more activities and explorations of the Pantanal biome, considered one of the largest continuous wetlands on the planet. In its territorial space, the biome, which is an alluvial plain, is influenced by rivers that drain the Upper Paraguay basin. Studies indicate that the biome is home to the following numbers of species cataloged: 263 species of fish | 41 species of amphibians | 13 species of reptiles | 463 species of birds | 132 species of mammals, 2 of which are endemic. Day 10 - Monday Hotel Baiazinha EcoLodge
Continue your explorations with a visit to the Taiama Ecological Station, a preserved place named after a Pantanal bird, established in 1981 to protect the area's 11,500 hectares of lush nature. This is a haven for birds, reptiles and mammals like the jaguar. Created to preserve the important ecosystem of the Pantanal in an area where one of the greatest diversity of fauna and flora is found. In addition to the Taiamใ Ecological Reserve, there are bays where we also have the chance to see the jaguar and other animals such as ariranha, sucuri, capybaras, guari wolf and birds of various species. Day 11 - Tuesday Hotel Baiazinha EcoLodge

Day 12 - Wednesday - Cuiaba - Brasilia
This morning you'll make the river - road transfer back to Cuiaba and transfer to the airport for your late afternoon flight to Brasilia, arriving in the early evening for an overnight stay at the Melia 21 Hotel. (B)
Day 13 - Thursday Brasilia - Pousada Trijuncao
Morning visit to Brasilia, capital of Brazil, located in the central region of the country. It is a planned city with unique and modern architecture, designed by world famous architects Lucio Costa and Oscar Niemeyer. This UNESCO World Heritage Site city was constructed specifically to develop the center of the country. Visit to the Belvedere TV Tower and experience panoramic views of Brasilia (weather permitting), Buriti Palace, JK Memorial (entrance fee not included), the Cathedral, the Esplanada dos Ministerios, ltamaraty Palace, The Three Powers Plaza, and Dawn Palace. After your visit have lunch and then transfer to the airport to take your 50 minute charter flight to Pousada Trijuncao for a three night stay in yet another Brazilian biome, the Cerrado. (B-L-D).
ABOUT POUSADA TRIJUNCAO: The Pousada Truncao is located on a 330,000 acre farm between the states of Minas Gerais, Goias and Bahia that has been transformed into an environmental preservation area.There is currently less than 50% of the original Cerrado remaining in Brazil, and it is estimated that 150 species of animals, including the jaguar, the ocelot, the giant armadillo, the giant anteater, the maned wolf and the chaco eagle are among 150 species that are at risk of extinction due to the destruction of, or damage to, their habitat. These species, however live on the Trijuncao farmlands free, protected and reproducing. This is Trijuncao Farm's mission. They believe that by sharing this experience with the pousada's guests, they are supporting the rediscovery of the Cerrado and stimulating its preservation.
The hotel offers 7 suites, all very comfortable and range between 322 and 968 SQ FT, with rustic chic decor featuring local wood and earthy tones. All the rooms have king sized beds and sizeable bathrooms with large showers. The hotel has preserved the structure of the original farmhouse which has maintained the ambiance of a Brazilian ranch. The communal area has large sofas and armchairs spread around the space. Brazilian art and handicrafts complement the homey feel. The pousada also has an observation tower which is great for bird watching and star gazing.
Day 14 - Friday - Pousada Trijuncao
During your stay at Pousada Trijuncao you will have the option for many different activities and explorations of the Cerrado, the Brazilian Savannah, the second largest Brazilian biome after Amazonia and the world's richest savannah in terms of biodiversity. It is home to more than 13,000 species of plants which accounts for approximately 5% of all plant species worldwide. It is in this important mixed woodland and grassland ecosystem exuberant wildlife, with more than 850 species of birds, 251 mammals, 482 reptiles and amphibians and over 1,200 types of fish.
Without a doubt, the highlight is the Maned Wolf preservation project. Threatened with extinction, this is the largest type of canid in South America and guests have the opportunity to learn all about the animal and the project, and with a little bit of luck see this fascinating animal in the wild. Other activities include kayak and inflatable boat trips, guided bicycle tours, bird watching, visiting the Grande Sertao Veredas National Park, visiting the conservationist breeding ground for emus, peccary and other wild animals, visiting the tortoise nursery, stargazing and an eco-safari at night. Day 15 - Saturday Pousada Trijuncao

Day 16 - Sunday Pousada Trijuncao - Brasilia
Short trasnfer to get your charter return flight to Brasilia where you will take a commercial flight to Brasilia for an overnight stay at the Hotel Melia 21. (B)
Day 17 - Tuesday Brasilia - Sao Paulo - Ilheus - Marau Peninsula
Transfer from your hotel to the Brasilia airport for your flight to Sao Paulo where you will connect to Ilheus. Meeting upon arrival Ilheus and transfer some 66 miles north of Ilheus, a drive of about two hours, to Casa dos Arandis for a relaxing, laid back 4-night stay. (B)
ABOUT CASA DOS ARANDIS: Located on tropical Marau Peninsula with 40km of semi deserted golden beaches, coral pools, freshwater ponds, forests and mangroves. Day 18 - Wednesday Marau Peninsula
Day completely at leisure. There are a variety of optional activities you can arrange direct with the hotel depending on your state of activity. You can do eco hikes in the nearby forest, go whale watching, try stand-up paddle boarding or go snorkeling, go biking, visit a Fazenda or the Bromeliad Forest, r simply relax on the beach or trat yourself to a spa treatment. You can be busy or lazy but whichever you are,
the Marua Peninsula, formed by more than 40 km of semi deserted beaches, sandbanks, immense coconut groves, forests, mangroves and several villages with streets of sand, tyou will have an intense contact with nature. (B)

Day 21 - Saturday Marau Peninsula - Ilheus - Sao Paulo & depart to USA
Morning overland transfer back to Ilheus where you can take a flight to Sao Paulo and connect to overnight flights back to the US.
