The history of La Posada goes back to 1905 when Jose Diaz arrived from Spain and started aquiring agricultural land in the Colchagua Valley. In the 1960's Eduardo Diaz Escandon decided to dedicate the land to the production of wine and in 1985 La Posada started the production of fine wines. The vineyard consists of 123 acres and is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Semillon. The winery has the facilities for storage of 1 million liters of wine in stainless steel tanks, cement and wooden vats, and has a cask room for storing fine wines. They export primarily to Ecuador, Brasil, Denmark, Germany and North America.
