ABOUT HOTEL ISLA SECA - in their own words: Hotel Isla Seca meets the need for an exclusive, European style, environmentally friendly, small hotel in this beautiful resort on the Pacific Coast of Chile. It is the favorite gathering spot for residents of Zapallar and a great place to meet and entertain friends. Inaugurated on June 19th 1993, Hotel Isla Seca grew from 24 to 38 rooms upon completion of the second building, in December 1998. The Hotel features a gourmet restaurant, an attractive bar and a modern conference room with capacity for 50 persons. All rooms are elegantly furnished and equipped with TV, central heating, full carpeting, oversized beds and comfortable bathrooms designed to ensure your rest and relaxation. The following accommodations are available:
The Bar features the typical and much requested Chilean "pisco sour" and such specialties as the "isla seca", based on orange juice and rum, the well known "tequila sunrise". The restaurant specializes in freshly caught seafood and fish from the Pacific Ocean. In particular we recommend the crab cakes served in their shell, or a delicious carpaccio of smoked salmon; and as a main course: grilled sole served with an estragon sauce and steamed vegetables. Our prize-winning dishes and personalized service make the Hotel Isla Seca Restaurant a favorite spot for entertaining guests or family. The hotel is located on the Pacific Coast of Chile, in the delightful village of Zapallar, two hours way from Santiago by super highway. Zapallar is both a small fishing village and an exclusive resort, where many aristocratic Chileans keep vacation homes. Surrounded by high mountains which fall dramatically to the sea, Zapallar enjoys a privileged climate, without wind and no rain between the months of October to April. Temperatures oscillate between 16 and 26 degrees centigrade during the summer and between 7 and 14 degrees during the winter months. Principal attractions include the beautiful horse-shoe bay and white sand beach, the luxurious summer homes and gardens, spectacular sunsets viewed from "Mar Bravo" where the Ocean pounds against the rocks. Our guests may also enjoy long walks along the paths bordering the Pacific Ocean and climbs up the face of the Isla Seca (dry island) which gave its name to the hotel. The more ambitious may treck up the mountain paths of the "Cerro El Boldo" leading from the village, so as to enjoy panoramic views of the entire coastline from Valparaiso to Papudo. |
