Porto de Galinhas |
Porto Galinhas, located about 35 miles south of Recife, is a fishing village turned eclectic resort. The town is small, colorful and funky. Main transportation is by dune buggy; shops abound, as do restaurants and bars.
During the day small shallow-draft rafts with sails take visitors out to the reef to swim in natural pools left at low tide. The beach is fine white sand, stretching for miles.
By night, the town lights up and restaurants and bars fill up.
LADATCO's preferred property is the lovely Nannai Resort, selected by Travel & Leisure for inclusion in the February 2003 issue "50 most Romantic Places".
This beach resort hasn't been discovered yet, nor fully developed. It's still user friendly, charming and laid back.
